The Journey we are on... A prophetic word given to the church has shaped our direction more than perhaps anything else. The 'word' was forged from Isaiah 54 "Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. God was telling us not only to prepare for growth but not to make the mistake the children of Israel made and which we can all be guilty of. Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. Psalm 78:41 God was calling us to think outside of the 'box or 'gold fish bowl' as the case may be, beyond our mindsets and the way we traditionally 'DO' Church. It's amazing to think that we serve a God of incredible variety and innovation who is both creative and exciting specialising in doing the unexpected and yet we can still manage to have a boring sameness church on many occasions. What a waste! - Now we are conscious that we are on a journey with only a few small steps taken but we now think differently and as we do this God is beginning to reveal something of what HE wants to do. We thank God for the many 'creatively talented hungry for God people' He has placed within us, the new ministries that are being developed and the tremendous sense of expectancy that has followed. We serve a great God with great plans (For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11) A great God who wants us to think exponentially and never ever be guilty of limiting Him. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, Ephesians 3:20.
